Waverly 300D2

A 3-seat hemlock cabin at $5,290, 6 percent under the cabin median per seat, standing 98 inches tall on a 51 by 61 inch base.

Waverly is fair value for a cabin: $1,763 per seat, against a cabin median of $1,868, eighth-cheapest of 22 cabins. Topture and Recovery for Athletes both list it at $5,290. What sets it apart is the shape, tall and narrow, with a footprint of about 22 square feet and 98 inches of height. That suits a corner of a patio, or a lot where width is the constraint.

The heater is 4.5 kW, or 1.5 kW per seat, exactly the typical figure. The 10-year warranty is the longest stated in years, with only the lifetime warranties from Almost Heaven and Peak Saunas above it. The Freeport 300D1 has the same dimensions, seats, heater, warranty and price, and weighs 2 pounds more. The SunRay Seneca, a red cedar 3-seater, is $400 cheaper. If you only need two seats, the Bristow costs $300 less than the Waverly and has one seat fewer.
